Vision and Mission Statement

Purpose:

Our purpose is to increase awareness into the field of Anesthesiology for medical students at the University of Miami. We want students to discover the excitement that happens on the other side of the curtain and heighten their interest into the exciting field of Anesthesiology.

VISION:
SIGA will provide medical students an opportunity to learn more about the field of Anesthesiology at the University of Miami. To supplement their extensive curricular exposure, we will provide students additional mentorship, education, and hands-on training.

MISSION:
The University of Miami School of Medicine SIGA shall:

We provide students an opportunity for shadowing in the operating rooms, simulation sessions, and hands on workshops
We also expose students to various aspects of anesthetic care from Trauma, Pain, OB, Cardio-Thoracic and Critical Care
Students also participate in our monthly student-run journal clubs, as well as attend local and national conferences
The University of Miami Anesthesia faculty are extremely involved, and for proper guidance we have setup faculty and resident mentors for students interested in Anesthesiology
