Academic Medicine Community (AMC)
The Academic Medicine Community is an organization dedicated to providing students with opportunities for education, mentorship, and community service in the field of academic medicine. The AMC aims to promote academic medicine as a viable and exciting career option for medical students, including administrative, research, and teaching aspects of the academic medicine career.

American Medical Association (AMA)
The American Medical Association Medical Student Section (AMA MSS) is dedicated to representing medical students, improving medical education, developing leadership and promoting activism for the health of America. The Florida Medical Association serves as an advocate for physicians and their patients to promote the public health, to ensure high standards in medical education and ethics, and to enhance the quality and availability of health care. FLAMPAC (Florida Medical Political Action Committee) is a non-partisan, political action committee created by the FMA in 1949 to elect pro-medicine candidates to state and national legislative offices. The membership of FLAMPAC includes physicians, physician spouses, medical students and residents, association staff and others who take an active role in the health care community.

American Physician Scientist Association (APSA)
The APSA Chapter understands and is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities of abiding by the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine policies. In extension of the purpose of the National APSA Chapter, the UMMSM APSA Chapter has been established for the purpose of:
● Creating a network of physician-scientists and physician scientists to-be at the University of Miami, that extends from the level of Undergraduates to Full Professors.

Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG)
The mission of the Family Medicine Interest Group is to foster interest and learning in students about the area of Family Medicine, with the intention of recruiting aspiring physicians to become Family Medicine Physicians. To accomplish this, we aim to nurture mentorship among medical students, residents, and faculty/staff within the community. It is our highest priority to promote the field of Family Medicine as a necessary specialty in advancing the quality of medical care and the health and wellbeing of the population. The goals of the FMIG are to advocate for the area of Family Medicine on a local and national level, emphasize its importance within communities (especially those underserved), and strive to increase the incorporation of family medicine practice into the medical education curriculum. It is our belief that within all caring and effective physicians is a strong foundation in Family Medicine.

Invested in Medicine (InvestMED)
The purpose of Invested in Medicine is to facilitate longitudinal conversations to empower UM Miller students with financial literacy and the tools to enact that knowledge. Our purpose is to build relatable institutional knowledge and individual financial comprehension, and help students plan for their financial futures during and beyond medical school. We will work to reduce uncertainty and facilitate an open atmosphere for students to discuss money matters without fear of judgement while fostering an environment of discovery. We will work to partner with and elevate the work of our Financial Aid office, ensuring those lessons and conversations continue and result in more tangible financial outcomes. We will utilize various media reviews to thematically explore the practical logistics and emotional weight that can come from discussions about debt, investment, and future planning.

Medical Students for Choice (MSFC)
Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) is dedicated to ensuring that patients receive the full range
of reproductive healthcare choices. MSFC recognizes that one of the greatest obstacles to safe and legal abortion is the absence of trained providers. We work to make reproductive health care, including abortion, a part of standard medical education and residency training. The work of MSFC helps to destigmatize abortion provision among medical students and residents and to
persuade medical schools and residency programs to include abortion as a part of the reproductive health services curriculum. MSFC is an internationally known non-profit
organization with a successful track record along with a network of over 10,000 medical students and residents in North America and abroad.

The purpose of the Student Interest Group in Anesthesiology is to provide exposure and guidance for all students interested in the field of anesthesiology. We offer hands-on airway and IV workshops, social events, journal clubs, and advising sessions throughout the year. Anesthesiology is a specialty which offers a unique mix of patient contact, OR time, and hands- on procedures, with sub-specialties in pediatrics, obstetrics, cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, and chronic pain management, etc.

Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN)
SIGN is a network of more than 150 chapters in medical schools across the United States and Canada. SIGN fosters medical student interest in neurology by providing opportunities to participate in clinical, research, and service activities in neurology, increasing the student’s neurologic knowledge. Members also get the chance to connect with students, residents, and faculty that share an interest in neurology through local events, national seminars, and the American Academy of Neurology.

As with actual trauma surgery, the group intends to incorporate the viewpoints of multiple specialists including surgeons, anesthesiologists, emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, and paramedics to provide a comprehensive perspective on the field of trauma.

Wilderness Medicine
The purpose of Wilderness Medicine is to facilitate interdisciplinary interaction among students and faculty expressing interests in issues relating to health and the wilderness. Wilderness Medicine will provide a forum for speakers to present topics of interest to the general student body. Additionally, the organization will act as an information and referral resource to members pursuing careers in areas related to health and the wilderness. Finally, Wilderness Medicine aims to engage in community service projects independently or with other campus organizations on issues relevant to wilderness medicine and the surrounding Miami community.
